Privacy Policy

FOCO is an app and Safari extension for Mac and iPhone, published by Barrera Pro Solutions LLC. This policy explains what happens to your data when you use it. In short, FOCO never sends your data to us. If you choose iCloud sync, it travels only between your own devices through your own iCloud.

What we collect

Nothing. FOCO has no accounts, no sign-in, no servers of ours, no analytics, no crash reporting, and no telemetry, and it includes no third-party SDKs, ad networks or analytics services. We do not collect, receive, or have access to your word lists, the pages you visit, or any other information from your use of the app or extension.

Where your lists live

Your words and lists are stored on your device, in a container shared by the app and its Safari extension. If you use iCloud sync (Settings → Sync with iCloud; it is on by default and only works while you are signed in to iCloud), FOCO also stores them in your own private iCloud (Apple's CloudKit), so they stay the same on your Mac and iPhone. That data belongs to your Apple Account: we cannot see it, and it is not shared with us or any third party.

Turn sync off and FOCO stops syncing, and your data stays on the device. You can delete the synced data in Settings → [your name] → iCloud → Manage Storage → FOCO.

How page content is handled

To highlight matches, the Safari extension reads the content of the page you're viewing entirely on your device, inside your browser. Page content is never sent anywhere, or seen by us.

Notifications

"Notify on Match" alerts are generated locally by macOS on the Mac when a word appears on a page you're viewing. No push service or server of ours is involved. On iPhone, the setting syncs but the phone does not show alerts.

Third parties

FOCO does not integrate any third-party SDKs, advertising networks, or analytics services.

Children's privacy

FOCO is a general-purpose productivity tool, not directed at children, and since it collects no data from anyone, it collects none from children either.

Changes to this policy

If anything about FOCO's data handling changes in the future, this page will be updated to reflect it before that change ships.

Version 1.2 adds iPhone and optional iCloud sync; this page was updated to describe them.
