The words that matter, lit up automatically.

FOCO watches every page you visit in Safari, on Mac and iPhone, and highlights the words and phrases you tell it matter: a street address in a listing feed, a case number, a competitor's name, your kid's school. They jump out without you scanning for them.

Three lists. Three colors.
Zero scanning.

Each highlight style below belongs to a different list, and FOCO applies them the moment a page loads.

New listing at 1220 Palm Court, 3bd/2ba, asking $415,000. Contact the seller's agent Maria Chen before Friday. Comps in the area have been moving fast. Case #A-2291 remains open pending inspection.

What it does

Built around how you actually track things

Lists & color

Group words into colored lists: solid fill, colored underline, or an outline box. Two curated palettes, Soft and Neon, with colors chosen for contrast automatically.

Matching that scales with you

Literal by default, with accent folding, so cafe matches "café" too. Add wildcards or full regular expressions when you need them.

  • auth* → author, authentic, authority
  • colo?r → color or colour
  • /\d{3}-\d{4}/ → phone-shaped text

Scoped to where it matters

Limit any word to specific sites, or exclude it from a few. Block FOCO entirely on chosen sites, subdomains included, toggleable right from the Safari popup.

Notified the moment it appears

Mark a word Notify on Match and get a real macOS notification on your Mac when it turns up, plus a badge on the toolbar icon. Alerts are de-duplicated per page, so nothing nags you twice.

A quiet Safari popup

Master on/off, a per-site mute, Word Alerts, and a collapsible breakdown of what's highlighted on the current page and how many times each word matched. Edit a list's words and colors, select several words to delete, move or limit to sites, and open a screen for each word. On iPhone, tap a word in the breakdown to jump to it, with a small bar to step through the matches. Right-click any selection to add it to a list.

A real app for the heavy lifting

Browse Lists, Domains, Notify on Match and Current Page Highlights from a sidebar. Search across every list, bulk-edit, export/import, and recover anything from Recently Deleted for 30 days. Lists, Domains, Recently Deleted and search are on both Mac and iPhone.

Mac and iPhone

On iPhone, too

FOCO is one App Store listing for Mac and iPhone, and one purchase covers both.

One purchase, both devices

Get FOCO once and use it on your Mac and your iPhone, with the same lists and words on each.

Your lists follow you

Turn on iCloud sync and your lists, words and settings stay the same between your Mac and iPhone. It's optional, and it travels only through your own iCloud.

In Safari on iPhone

A popup for adding the selected text to a list, and a This Page list: tap a word to jump to it on the page, with a small bar to step through the matches. Notify on Match alerts appear on the Mac.

Use cases

A few ways to put FOCO to work

It doesn't know or care what you're highlighting. Here's where it tends to matter most.

Team manager, 10 direct reports

“I added all ten of my direct reports' names to FOCO, so I can spot them instantly across our company sites, Outlook, Teams, wherever they show up.

Medical coder

“I go through medical notes all day, and highlighting the right keywords helps me spot diagnoses faster. Nothing about a patient ever leaves my computer to make that happen.

Parent, hunting for weekend plans

“Our county's park list is huge and impossible to filter. Now the three parks near us jump right off the page instead of me scrolling past fifty I don't care about.

Keeping tabs on my own name

“If my name shows up anywhere, I want to know. I've got a standing rule for it on every site except a couple, like Gmail, where it's just noise.

Frequent online shopper

“I know the standard return policy by heart at this point, so I highlight phrases like "final sale" and "non-returnable" in red. Exceptions jump out the second a listing loads.

Household budget, kept in check

“While I'm going through accounts, I highlight "$0.00" in green so the ones already paid off jump out immediately. Everything else is what actually needs my attention.

Inbox declutterer

“I can't stand spam. Highlighting "unsubscribe" on my webmail makes it stupidly easy to find exactly where to click.

Restock hunter

“I highlight "in stock" and "add to cart" in green on the couple of sites I check for restocks. One glance tells me instead of rereading the whole page every time.

Cooking around a family allergy

“My son has a peanut allergy, so I highlight "peanut" and a few related ingredients in red whenever I'm reading recipes or ingredient lists online. It's one less thing to worry about missing.

Privacy

Nothing to sign into. Nothing to send anywhere.

  • No account, no sign-in, no server of ours. Nothing is sent to us.
  • Your word lists live on your device. If you turn on iCloud sync, they're kept in your own private iCloud so they match across your devices, and we can never see them.
  • No analytics, no tracking, no telemetry of any kind.
  • Page content is read and highlighted entirely on-device, in the browser.

On or off, you can always tell

The icon shows you at a glance

FOCO's app and toolbar icon switch to a dark variant the moment it's turned off, or on a site you've blocked, so you always know whether it's working on the page in front of you.
